We are receiving reports that officers continue to work at the location of an alleged attack in Old Cwmbran this afternoon.

A security perimeter established by police remains at the site.

Gwent Police have stated that four individuals all residing in the Cwmbran area have been detained on suspicion of assault and are currently being held in police custody following a report of a female being attacked on Victoria Street at approximately 5.10am today.

Police have stated that the woman’s injuries have not been classified as serious and that she did not receive medical attention or require hospital transport.
