Newport’s Vibrant Colour Run Returns with Dazzling Atmosphere

Published on

Tredegar Park in Newport was transformed into a vibrant canvas of hues on Saturday as the fully-booked Kolor Dash 5K brought together large crowds for an afternoon combining enjoyment, physical activity and charitable support.

The popular gathering, running from 1pm until 3pm, saw locals tackle the course at varying paces, with runners, joggers and walkers completing the route according to their own abilities.

All participants shared a common purpose in backing St David’s Hospice Care, even as some pushed for a swift finish while others savoured the occasion.

The event fulfilled its vibrant promise, with vivid powdered paint scattered throughout the course that left those taking part covered from head to foot in bright colours.

Among those joining in were 58-year-old Cath Earl and her 15-year-old grandson Coen Earl. While Cath had experienced the occasion previously, this marked Coen’s inaugural participation.

Reflecting on the experience, he remarked that it proved thoroughly enjoyable and involved numerous friends and relatives. Cath noted that the cause deserved tremendous support and that attendees derived considerable pleasure from the gathering, describing it as an excellent occasion.

Activities positioned throughout the venue maintained high spirits, with a foam area emerging as particularly popular and providing a refreshing and entertaining obstacle.

Emergency crews added to the excitement by hosing down competitors as they progressed, generating enthusiastic responses from those involved and observers alike.

The warm, bright conditions complemented the proceedings perfectly, offering an ideal method to beat the heat and enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.

The afternoon resonated with community spirit, as numerous participants aimed not merely for personal satisfaction but to generate essential funding for local hospice services.

The vivid display and enthusiastic atmosphere demonstrated the event’s strong appeal to those present.

With satisfied faces throughout and an impressive attendance, those responsible for organising declared the day a considerable triumph, with many already anticipating the next gathering.

A comparable Kolor Dash is scheduled to take place in Cwmbran on August 26, providing additional opportunities for participation.
