A weekend of entertainment awaits across Gwent, with options including country music, technology workshops, family shopping, and paranormal investigation.

The Riverfront in Newport plays host to the Country Roads production, a new show from Entertainers bringing classic country songs to audiences. The lineup includes tracks such as 9 to 5, Jolene, and Rhinestone Cowboy. Tickets cost £32 and can be bought online. The show starts at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 25.

Youngsters with an interest in technology can take part in a free Code Club session at the International Convention Centre Wales, also in Newport. Children between 7 and 13 years old will discover how to create games and learn about Artificial Intelligence. Previous programming knowledge is not required, and all equipment will be provided. The session runs from 11.35am until 1.20pm on Saturday, April 25.

Families looking for bargains should head to Cwmbran Stadium, where the Little Rays Bump to Baby and Children’s Shopping Event offers both new and pre-owned items including toys and children’s garments. Entry costs £1.50 for adults, while those aged under 18 get in without charge. The event runs between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Sunday, April 26.

For those brave enough, the Paranormal Eye team invites adventurers to an overnight investigation at Caldicot Castle in Monmouthshire. Participants will search the ancient chambers and concealed corridors of the castle for supernatural experiences. The ghost hunt begins at 8pm on Saturday, April 25.
