Local fitness centre partners with primary school to boost children’s wellbeing

Published on

A primary school has joined forces with a nearby fitness centre to improve children’s physical health.

Last Thursday, PureGym Blackwood attended Bryn Primary School in Pontllanfraith at 12.30pm to run a session focused on fitness and wellness.

The programme featured movement exercises, yoga, and functional training, with an emphasis on exercises that are easy for children to participate in.

This venture forms part of an agreement between the educational establishment and the neighbourhood business, designed to encourage healthier ways of living among young people and their relatives.

The programme aligned with the Curriculum for Wales, particularly the Health and Wellbeing Area of Learning.

It forms part of a broader drive to build stronger neighbourhood ties, increase participation in exercise, and assist families with their wellbeing locally.

The school indicated it considers this to be an important story for the local community because it demonstrates a fresh relationship between an educational setting and a local enterprise, addresses young people’s health, wellness, and community involvement, and highlights the constructive work being done in Blackwood to help families.

The partnership between Bryn Primary School and PureGym Blackwood is viewed as progress toward fostering better health habits among children and families in the surrounding area.

It also illustrates how regional businesses can collaborate with schools to bring advantages to the broader community.
