A worldwide churro business that launched on London’s festival scene has finally reached Gwent, with Love Churros launching a fresh dessert venue in Cwmbran.
Love Churros trades from Gwent Square within M Cwmbran Centre (NP44 1PL) and welcomes customers from 10am until 5pm, offering traditional, stuffed and ring-shaped churros alongside pancakes, frozen desserts, shakes and espresso.
The expanding enterprise, which commenced operations in 2015 and has grown from temporary stalls to fixed locations throughout London and further afield, now maintains a kiosk in Gwent Square at the heart of Cwmbran.
This launch means shoppers in Torfaen can purchase the brand’s signature churros without making the journey to Cardiff, Bristol or beyond.
Love Churros cultivated a loyal customer base at outdoor music events, horticultural exhibitions and high-traffic retail areas, before rolling out permanent shops in destinations such as Camden, Shoreditch, Westfield Stratford City and Wembley within Britain, plus various outlets in Bahrain.
Its menu centres on freshly cooked churros presented in various formats from traditional sugar-coated sticks to versions with fillings and looped shapes, accompanied by an assortment of dipping sauces.
The company has also extended its range in recent years to incorporate pancakes, ice cream, milkshakes and a proprietary coffee blend, seeking to attract families, romantic pairs and groups searching for a luxurious snack.
For enthusiasts wishing to recreate the experience domestically, its branded sauces are now available for purchase online with delivery throughout the country.
With the Cwmbran launch, Love Churros becomes part of an increasing collection of nationwide brands deciding to establish themselves in Gwent’s town centres.
The business now runs outlets ranging from designer shopping centres in Bridgend, the West Midlands and York to major shopping centres including Lakeside in Essex and Highcross in Leicester, placing Cwmbran alongside some of Britain’s busiest retail destinations.
Independent retailers locally anticipate that the arrival of a recognised dessert brand will increase visitor numbers, particularly during evening hours and on weekends, while offering consumers an additional motivation to remain in the area rather than travelling elsewhere for sweet indulgences.
