The contest was held at the Principality Stadium and involved pupils from primary, secondary, additional learning needs, and post-16 year groups.

Participants took part in multiple building tasks using Minecraft Education, exhibiting their problem-solving abilities, capacity for teamwork, and inventive reasoning.

Victorious squads in each section were: ALN for the additional learning needs division, WHS_minecraft for Primary Schools, Ysgol Pennant for Secondary Schools Under 16, and CAVC Celts for Post 16.

The tournament prioritised inclusivity, permitting learners of different ages and competence levels to compete.

John Jackson, Chief Executive of Esports Wales, remarked that the Minecraft Esports Cymru Finals represent more than just a contest. They bring together students from throughout Wales, recognise imagination, cooperation, and digital expertise, and demonstrate how organised gaming can productively complement classroom learning.

The programme strengthens curriculum-aligned education and introduces competitive gaming to pupils within a safe, structured, and educational framework.

The Principality Stadium finals provided competitors with an outstanding chance to develop abilities at a distinguished Welsh sporting location.

The Minecraft Esports Cymru programme advances Esports Wales’ mission to back educational establishments throughout the country.

This initiative offers structured competitive gaming experiences aligned with academic objectives, establishing pathways into digital careers and the wider esports sector.

Founded in 2018, Esports Wales operates as the regulatory authority for esports in Wales.

The organisation partners with schools, local communities, and various interested parties to deliver inclusive competitive gaming opportunities, spanning from introductory participation through to elite-level competition.
