A housebuilding company is sharing guidance for families moving with their pets.

Lovell Homes is marking National Pet Month this April by publishing advice for making pet transitions smoother and less stressful.

The developer encourages buyers to plan ahead so their animals can settle into new surroundings quickly and comfortably.

Suzie Hewitt, regional sales director at Lovell Homes, explained that moving to a brand new home is a major life event for any household, including the animal members. She noted that investing a small amount of extra care can make a considerable difference to how well they adapt. She added that their homes are designed with modern living in mind, featuring aspects that many pet owners value, such as private gardens and closeness to parks and open spaces.

The guidance includes maintaining established daily routines, updating pet microchip and registration details, and setting up a quiet, secure space on moving day where the animal can relax.

The company also advises letting pets explore their new home gradually, approaching one room at a time, to reduce anxiety levels.

Lovell Homes currently has two developments in Newport: Royal Victoria Court and Locke Gardens.

Both sites offer easy reach of parks, walking routes, and outdoor facilities.
