Warning issued to Newport narcotics supplier: prison term looming

Published on

A dealer from Newport has been informed he could spend multiple years incarcerated.

Lloyd Bailey, 34, from Otter Close in Bettws, admitted to possessing cocaine with the intention of supplying it.

The criminal act took place on March 20.

Proceedings were put off until May 20 so a pre-sentence report could be compiled.

Cardiff Crown Court heard the report would only assist in deciding the duration of the immediate custodial sentence he will receive.

Judge Eugene Egan ordered Bailey to remain in custody.

David Pinnell acted for the defence while Heath Edwards represented the prosecution.
