Virtual golf centre planned at disused industrial site

A technology-driven indoor golf venue could be coming to an industrial area in Bedwas.

Craig Hughes, acting on behalf of Pin Sim Golf, has filed paperwork with Caerphilly County Borough Council seeking permission to change how the premises would be used.

If given the green light, two spaces at Bedwas House Industrial Estate would be transformed to house golf simulator stations, a reception zone, offices, a kitchen, and bathroom facilities.

Planning records indicate the venture would take over premises previously occupied by a kitchen unit supplier.

In supporting materials, Mr Hughes described the venture as modest in size, noting that customers would book appointments in advance and reserve particular sessions.

The operational plan includes one full-time post and two roles on a part-time basis, with opening times set between 10am and 10pm Monday through Saturday, and between 10am and 8pm on Sundays and bank holidays.

According to Mr Hughes, conversations with surrounding enterprises and local inhabitants have been positive, and he expressed optimism about bringing golf simulator facilities to the area.

The application materials show that while Mr Hughes is not the property owner, he has updated the landowner about his submission.

The scheme is currently available for community input via the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 26/0218/COU.
