Local residents launch initiative to upgrade neighborhood park

Published on

A freshly established collective of local residents aims to enhance a play area in a Monmouthshire town.

The Friends of Union Road Playground in Abergavenny comprises neighbors who have come together to modernize the park and consider what lies ahead.

They have arranged a Community Park Day for Saturday, April 18, set to take place at the Union Road Playground.

The gathering will occur between 10am and 12pm and serves as the first phase of their community consultation.

Their objective involves uniting residents, collecting suggestions and beginning to shape a collective plan for the playground.

The event will include creative workshops suitable for families, with involvement welcomed from both children and adults.

The collective is currently investigating ways the playground might honor the local area’s history, especially its connection to the former railway line.
