Three Newport residents have admitted guilt for assault causing serious harm with intent following what was described as a coordinated attack. Marta Lepek, aged 20, Rebecca Thomas-Walters, 38, and Dwain Walters, 38, confessed to inflicting severe injuries upon Lawson Evans during an incident in the city. The assault occurred on March 2, 2024, according to proceedings at Cardiff Crown Court. Lepek, from Ariel Close, and Thomas-Walters, from Melbourne Way, submitted their guilty pleas on April 2. Walters, from Brynderwen Road, entered his plea during today’s session. Judge Paul Hobson informed Walters that all three defendants should anticipate serving time in prison immediately upon sentencing. The hearing is scheduled for May 13. Each defendant was allowed conditional bail.
