Political parties and individual candidates have made their campaign literature available through the Vote.wales website, giving electors the chance to examine each contestant’s stance and electoral promises ahead of the May 7 poll.

The online service allows residents to enter their postcode to find relevant candidates and associated materials for their particular area, or browse details across the entirety of Wales’s 16 Senedd constituencies.

Shereen Williams MBE OStJ, leader of the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru, explained that this election carries considerable importance and represents the first opportunity for voters to obtain these leaflets in digital format via the platform.

She noted that Vote.wales provides extensive information to replace confusion about voting with knowledge and certainty. Users can find where their polling stations are located, see which candidates are standing, and learn why various parties and individuals are seeking public support. She encouraged people to use the website to familiarise themselves with this election.

As well as candidate documentation, the site offers advice on voting processes, who qualifies to vote, and the purpose of the Senedd within Welsh governance.

The Electoral Management Board for Wales, which functions under the umbrella of the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru, runs the platform and manages the publication of materials.

New candidate information was added on April 10, with further content published each Thursday in the run-up to the May 7 election.

Only those leaflets sent to the Electoral Management Board feature on the website, and the board bears no responsibility for what those materials contain. The board also does not edit or translate any documentation, as this duty rests with the candidates themselves or their appointed agents.
