Recent cases dealt with at magistrates court
James Blanchard, 48, of Clytha Square, Newport was handed a financial penalty of £1,027.45 comprising fines, costs and a surcharge after pleading guilty to two counts of neglecting to ensure household waste from a property was handed to an authorised individual, on 22 August 2025 and 20 October 2025.
Tyrone Morgan, residing at Tredegar Avenue, Ebbw Vale, received a fine of £408 which included costs and a surcharge for having a motor vehicle that was not covered by appropriate insurance.
Ethan Newberry, aged 22, of Holly Road, Risca was ordered to pay £264 in fines, costs and a surcharge after being found with a motor vehicle lacking valid insurance cover.
Geraint Hughes, 39, from Swan Square, Abersychan, Pontypool was banned from driving for six months for neglecting to supply identification details regarding a vehicle’s driver when requested. He was also directed to pay £1,044 in fines, costs and a surcharge.
Philip Brown, 62, living at Priory Grove, Langstone, Newport faced a financial penalty of £1,044 in fines, costs and a surcharge for failing to provide driver identification details when requested. He had six penalty points added to his driving licence.
Jack Davies, of St James Way, Georgetown, Tredegar, must pay £410 in fines, costs and back duty for possessing a vehicle without a current valid licence.
Jodie Jennings, 38, from Upland Drive, Trevethin, Pontypool, was ordered to pay £176 in fines, costs and a surcharge after admitting to travelling above the speed limit in a 20mph zone. Three penalty points were added to their driving licence.
Mariusz Strzelecki, 33, of Tredegar Road, Ebbw Vale, was directed to pay £1,198 in fines, costs and a surcharge for operating a motor vehicle on a road or public place without insurance and for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. Six penalty points were added to his driving licence.
SA Rental Ltd, located at Caesar Crescent, Caerleon, Newport, was fined £220 plus £85 in costs and £16.25 in back duty for keeping a vehicle without a valid licence.
