A limited-edition stamp series has been released to observe the centenary of a distinguished royal’s arrival into the world.
Royal Mail has introduced twelve exclusive stamps honouring the late Queen Elizabeth II ahead of what would have marked her hundredth birthday on 21 April 2026.
The series comprises eight stamps displaying photographs spanning the Queen’s existence, together with a four-stamp miniature sheet celebrating her enduring passion for equestrian pursuits and canine companions.
David Gold, Royal Mail’s head of external affairs and policy, commented that through these Special Stamps, the late Queen’s unparalleled dedication to her position throughout history is commemorated.
He noted that these stamps recount the remarkable journey of a highly visible existence dedicated to duty, alongside a more private interest in dogs and horses, domains where Her Majesty possessed celebrated knowledge.
Queen Elizabeth II appeared continuously on British postal items throughout her sovereignty, gracing the Wilding portrait, the Machin definitive collection, and the Gillick silhouette, as well as numerous stamps marking royal occasions.
The fresh stamps and related memorabilia become available for booking from 14 April via the Royal Mail website or by calling 03457 641 641.
A display case containing the complete set of twelve stamps may be acquired for £22.50.
The stamps will be released to the general public from 21 April.
