Woman to appear in court over £492k fraud charges

A 29-year-old from Newport has appeared before magistrates in connection with two distinct fraud matters totalling £492,000.

Lucy Paginton stands accused of orchestrating a fraudulent scheme worth £280,000 alongside another fraud valued at £212,000, with the alleged criminal activity occurring from the end of 2017 through late January 2025.

Further accusations levelled at the accused comprise possession of an item intended for fraudulent purposes and performing an act designed to impede judicial proceedings.

The case has been forwarded to the crown court, where Paginton is due to make an appearance on April 27.

Paginton, whose address is Cot Farm Circle, was granted unconditional bail.
