SUMMARY OF CASES DEALT WITH BY MAGISTRATES

Jordan Jayne, 29, residing at Drayton Court in St Dials, Cwmbran, was ordered to pay a total of £1,044 comprising a financial penalty, legal costs and an additional surcharge after failing to provide details identifying who was driving or riding a vehicle when requested to do so. Six points were added to his driving licence.

Joshua Heard, 28, from Woodside in Duffryn, Newport, faced a bill of £141 including a fine, costs and surcharge after admitting responsibility for taking a £9 bottle of wine from a Tesco store on March 27.

Emily Edwards, who lives at Nantyglo Caravan Site in Nantyglo, received a £220 fine and was directed to pay £85 in costs plus £28.50 in back duty for operating a vehicle that lacked valid licensing.

Jordan Hammond, 33, from Livale Road in Bettws, Newport, was required to pay £262 encompassing a fine, costs and surcharge after acknowledging failure to obey red and green arrow signals and lane closure indicators. Three points were recorded on his driving history.

Katie Evans, 43, of Dents Hill, Newport, must pay £1,044 in total including a fine, costs and surcharge for not supplying vehicle driver or rider identification details when legally required. Six penalty points were endorsed on her driving record.

Stephen Elwell, 65, from Aston Crescent in Newport, was ordered to pay £428 including a fine, costs and surcharge for travelling above the speed limit in a 30mph area. Three points were added to his driving record.

Jamie-George Marsh, 35, of Heol Trothy in Caldicot, pleaded guilty to maintaining an unlicensed vehicle and was fined a total of £237.67 covering the penalty, costs and back duty.

Mohammed Ali, 43, from Chepstow Road in Newport, received a six-month driving ban for exceeding the speed limit in a 30mph zone. He must also pay £736 comprising a fine, costs and surcharge.

Safraz Ali, also of Chepstow Road in Newport, was fined £408 including costs and surcharge for keeping a motor vehicle without appropriate insurance cover.
