It noted that buyers should expect to wait for profits and possible inconvenience from construction work, though the long-term gains could be considerable.

The piece continued that while the terraced houses do not match the size and attractiveness of neighbouring Pontcanna, with starting prices just above £300,000, they provide considerably superior value.

The publication described it as a pleasant riverside town that, despite sitting next to Newport, preserves its own character and offers straightforward connections to Cardiff, Bristol, mainline train services, and the M4 motorway. During Roman times, it functioned as the base for the second legion of Augustus.
New housing and business developments are bringing fresh energy to the area. Sophisticated visitors from throughout South Wales are attracted to the Priory Hotel’s chateaubriand dish, priced at £75 for two guests, and the delightful Coffiology coffee establishment.
