Residents across the area are struggling with persistent problems caused by poor mobile signal.
An inquiry led by MP Catherine Fookes in Monmouthshire gathered more than 700 submissions from across the county, highlighting the scale of the issue.
The results showed that almost three-quarters of participants rated their home phone signal as poor or very poor, while just over one in seven considered it acceptable or excellent.
Examining the wider area, more than three-fifths reported having weak signal strength, compared with approximately one in seven who were happy with their service.
The MP for Monmouthshire said local people throughout the area have demonstrated that inadequate mobile coverage is having a serious impact on their daily lives. She added that residents should not have to face difficulties making emergency calls, missing important medical appointments, or being unable to carry out remote work because of substandard network performance. She noted that these figures reveal the true scope of the problem and make clear why prompt intervention is required.
She has escalated the matter to both the UK Government and mobile network operators, sharing postcode details for the worst-affected communities including Trellech, Llangwm, Mamhilad, and Llanthony.
Following her constituency office’s involvement, additional households have recently become able to connect to full fibre broadband services.
