Routes connecting Ebbw Vale with Newport are experiencing delays expected to continue until 09:48.

Routes connecting Chepstow with Newport are also experiencing delays expected to continue until 09:48.

According to National Rail:

An above-average number of trains requiring simultaneous repairs is impacting journeys between Newport (South Wales) and Ebbw Vale Town. Consequently, a limited timetable is running between these locations. Normal service is anticipated by 10:00.

Guidance for passengers:

The 06:48 and 08:48 Transport for Wales departures from Newport (South Wales) toward Ebbw Vale Town have been cancelled. The 07:38 and 09:38 services traveling from Ebbw Vale Town to Newport (South Wales) have also been cancelled. Services running directly between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Town continue to operate normally.

Alternative travel options:

Passengers may utilize local bus services to complete their journeys at no additional cost: Stagecoach South Wales Route 56 traveling between Newport and Crosskeys via Rogerstone and Pontymister. Route X15 operating between Newport and Llanhilleth via Rogerstone, Crosskeys and Newbridge. Route 151 running between Newport and Newbridge via Pye Corner, Rogerstone, Pontymister, Risca and Crosskeys.

Rail services have returned to normal operation.
