A pair of people have been handed jail terms for dealing cocaine across the Gwent Valleys region.
Kyle Williams, 38, and Simon Farr, 54, both residing in Abertillery, were handed sentences of four years and 30 months respectively for their roles in the drug enterprise.
Williams ran the criminal operation while Farr was hired to distribute the substances.
When officers searched Farr’s home, they uncovered numerous weapons such as swords, machetes, knives and five guns.
No prosecutions were initiated in connection with these weapons.
The case was brought before Cardiff Crown Court by Tom Roberts, who explained that Farr operated as a courier for Williams, who bore principal accountability for the operation while Farr held a subordinate position.
Both defendants acknowledged involvement in supplying cocaine.
Williams additionally confessed to possessing the class A substance with the purpose of distribution.
The illegal activity took place between 1 April 2024 and 29 March 2025.
Williams has an extensive criminal history including 13 prior convictions amounting to 24 offences, whereas Farr has 12 previous convictions totalling 26 offences.
Neither defendant had previously faced allegations concerning drug supply.
Farr had avoided legal trouble since 1999.
The court heard that both defendants entered guilty pleas at the earliest possible stage and were consumers of the drugs they were selling.
Jac Brown, acting for Williams who has three children, told the court his client spent £500 per week on cocaine and had built up significant debts connected to the drug.
Sol Hartley, representing Farr, informed the court that his client was in a vulnerable situation and was merely following orders, occupying the bottom rung of the operation.
Mr Hartley additionally mentioned that Farr has recently undergone screening for bone marrow cancer.
Farr, who is not employed, has suffered health issues since a motorbike crash in 2002.
The presiding judge, Recorder Andrew Hammond, stated that both defendants were selling directly to end users and that supplying cocaine over roughly a year constituted an aggravating factor.
Williams, living at Hill Crest View in Cwmtillery, and Farr, from Barker Avenue, will serve a maximum of 40 percent of their sentences behind bars before being released on licence.
Both defendants are expected to attend a proceeds of crime hearing later in the year.
