A crowdfunding campaign has been launched by Barcud to support the Wales Air Ambulance.
The housing provider, operating across mid and west Wales, aims to collect £5,000 for the charitable service, which relies solely on donations from the public to fund its helicopters and fast response vehicles.
Jason Jones, chief executive at the Barcud Group, explained that everyone he speaks with is aware of someone who has been helped by the Wales Air Ambulance Service.
He expressed hope that staff members working within the organisation, residents, alongside relatives and companions would contribute to the fundraising initiative through collections and events for this worthy cause.
Jones added that it would be wonderful if they aimed high and surpassed the £5,000 goal.
This represents Barcud’s first year of fundraising specifically directed towards one charitable cause.
At the yearly staff conference held during the winter season, most employees voted to support a charity that, like Barcud, offers help and assistance to people living in countryside locations.
Barcud’s opening fundraising activity, a Traitors-inspired event taking cues from the BBC programme, brought in £135.
Upcoming plans comprise coffee and cake mornings at Barcud’s offices in Newtown, Aberystwyth and Lampeter on April 15.
Ten members of staff will also be taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon in October.
The air ambulance charity requires £13 million each year to maintain its operations.
Every mission costs around £3,545 and the crews have carried out more than 55,000 assignments since 2001.
Emily Bell, from the Wales Air Ambulance fundraising team, explained that the Wales Air Ambulance receives its funding from the people of Wales and depends entirely on public support to keep the helicopters in the sky.
Ms Bell expressed appreciation for Barcud’s backing.
She highlighted that the charity does not receive direct government funding and does not meet the requirements for National Lottery funding, making public donations especially crucial.
