A new scheme is calling on local people to become part of an organization aimed at steering Monmouthshire’s cultural future.

Following the recent launch of the Monmouthshire Cultural Strategy, the Monmouthshire Cultural Partnership Forum has been created to bring together individuals passionate about culture who want to help shape how the county develops its creative pursuits and aspirations.

Tracey Thomas, who heads culture, community learning and events, stated that culture provides the fundamental identity that makes Monmouthshire such a unique place for residence, employment and tourism.

This newly formed forum has been set up to hear views, gather expertise and work together.

We are keen to hear from those with practical experience, new ideas and commitment to their local areas, making certain that culture in Monmouthshire remains open to all, innovative and grounded in community connections.

The forum will support the development of a county-wide strategy for cultural advancement, aiming to showcase existing projects, share information and keep culture as an vibrant element of community life.

Organizers wish to collect varied viewpoints from across the entire range of cultural activity in the county, covering heritage, the arts, education, community gatherings, voluntary work and wider creative industries.

Artists, managers, educators, volunteers, practitioners and anybody with a strong interest in cultural affairs is encouraged to take part.

Those getting involved will have chances to set objectives for cultural work in Monmouthshire, influence decisions, connect with other professionals and spark creativity throughout the region.

The submission window is currently open and closes on May 1, 2026.
