Supermarkets across Britain including Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Lidl, and Tesco have alerted customers to check their kitchens following several product withdrawals due to health and safety issues.
Multiple food safety alerts have been issued for different reasons, with the Food Standards Agency instructing shoppers not to consume certain items.
Currently active recalls are affecting products available from various UK retailers across the country, including certain porridge varieties pulled from shelves over possible mouse contamination concerns.
Consumers who have purchased any of the impacted products should be aware of potential health hazards and adhere to official recommendations.
Understanding Food Recalls
Porridge withdrawal
Nine porridge items stocked at major retailers including Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s have been removed from sale because of possible mouse contamination.
MOMA Foods is pulling various porridge pots and sachet products from the market due to potential mouse contamination discovered at the production facility, rendering them unsafe for consumption.

Walkers crisp withdrawal
A packet of crisps sold at UK supermarkets has been pulled from shelves by Walkers with customers warned not to consume the affected product.
Walkers is withdrawing its six-pack of Hot Honey crisps, available from Tesco, Ocado and additional retailers, because some packets may contain Mild Cheese & Onion seasoning which includes milk but was not properly disclosed on packaging.
The company stated that although the product carries precautionary allergen labelling for milk, milk does not appear in the ingredients list and therefore poses a risk to those with a milk allergy.
The affected batch consists of the six-pack of 25g bags with a best before date of May 16, 2026 and batch code GBB 584 031.
The Food Standards Agency has warned that the product may contain milk, presenting a possible health risk for anyone with a milk allergy or milk intolerance.
The agency added that anyone who has purchased this product and has a milk allergy should not eat it and should instead contact the Consumer Care Line on 0800 274 777 or visit contact.pepsico.com/walkers for a full refund.
Walkers confirmed that no other batch codes with this best before date are affected.
A PepsiCo spokesperson stated that the company is withdrawing a specific batch of Walkers Hot Honey 6 x 25g multipacks from certain UK retailers and wholesalers.
Some packets may contain Mild Cheese & Onion seasoning instead of Hot Honey, meaning the labelling is incorrect and could pose a risk to people with a milk allergy.
This only applies to product with the specific batch code in question.
No other Walkers or PepsiCo products are affected by this withdrawal.
Product quality and safety is the company’s top priority and they sincerely apologise for the mistake.
The company is collaborating with the Food Standards Agency, affected retailers and allergy organisations to inform the public.

Aptamil withdrawal
Parents have been told not to use a batch of baby formula as it may contain a toxin capable of causing illness in infants.
Danone has withdrawn its Aptamil First Infant Formula because of the possible presence of cereulide toxin.
This toxin can lead to nausea, vomiting and stomach cramps, and is unsafe to consume.
It is produced by certain strains of Bacillus cereus and is highly resistant to heat, meaning it would likely survive cooking or when preparing the infant milk.
The affected batch of formula has a best before date of October 31, 2026.
A Danone spokesperson stated that the product was sold between May and July 2025. The expiry date, batch and time can be found on the lower back of the pack.
No other batches are affected by this notice.
Customers who still have products from this batch can return them to the shop where they were purchased for a full refund with or without a receipt.

Anyone who has bought this product should not feed it to babies and should instead return it to the shop where it was purchased for a full refund with or without a receipt.
For more information, customers can contact the Aptamil Careline team on 0800 996 1000 or at www.aptaclub.co.uk.
Even if no illness has been observed in the baby as a result of consuming this product, it is essential to stop using it.
If the infant formula was prescribed by a health professional, parents should consult a pharmacist or other medical professional before switching formula.
If this product has been given to a baby and there are any concerns about potential health effects, parents should seek advice from healthcare professionals through the most appropriate route depending on their location, such as visiting a GP or calling NHS 111.
TK Maxx withdrawal
Drinks products sold at TK Maxx and Homesense have been recalled as they present a possible health risk to certain customers.
TJX Europe is withdrawing its Ten Acre Gifts/Coffee Syrup collection due to safety concerns.
The items were available at TK Maxx and Homesense between October 2025 and January 2026 and have a best before date of September 9, 2026.
The collection may contain nuts, peanuts, soya and wheat (gluten) which are not declared on the label.
An FSA spokesperson stated that this product may contain nuts, peanuts, soya and wheat (gluten), presenting a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts, peanuts, soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease.
TJX Europe is withdrawing this product from customers and has been advised to contact relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their members about the withdrawal.
These notices explain to customers why the product is being withdrawn and instruct them on what to do if they have purchased it.
Anyone who has bought this product and has an allergy and/or intolerance to any of the allergens mentioned should not consume it.
Instead, customers should return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. They can contact customerservice@tjxeurope.com or 01923473561 for more information.
What is a product recall?
When there is an issue with a food product meaning it should not be sold, it might be withdrawn from shelves or recalled when customers are asked to return the product.
The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to inform consumers and local authorities about food-related problems.
In certain circumstances, a Food Alert for Action is issued.
This provides local authorities with details of specific actions to be taken on behalf of consumers.
