Good morning and thank you for joining our real-time traffic coverage. We have received information regarding a collision in Ebbw Vale earlier today.

Keep checking back here for the latest developments.

The incident is believed to have occurred earlier this morning while officers remain at the scene with members of the public mentioning livestock on the A4046 route.

The stretch connecting Waun Lwyd to Cwm seems to be where the collision took place.

Members of the public are indicating the accident could be located closer to the town centre in the vicinity of the supermarket.

One resident stated the section between the supermarket and the graveyard junction is passable, though the incident may be situated in the opposite direction near the multi-storey parking facility.

A different witness reported the collision involves a light commercial vehicle and a private car.

Officers from Gwent Police have been asked to provide additional information.

According to the AA navigation service the highway is shut in both directions along the A4046 between the A4281 College Road junction and Market Square, though vehicle flow remains smooth.

Traffic conditions are running smoothly through the central part of Ebbw Vale. The route towards the supermarket remains inaccessible while the busy Cemetery Road junction area shows some disruption.

Good afternoon and welcome back to our live traffic feed.

The highways around Ebbw Vale have now reopened and officers have been observed departing the location.

An official statement from police is still being awaited.
