Gwent residents can look forward to a busy weekend of activities spanning everything from music trails to craft markets.
The city centre will host the second and concluding day of the 2026 Newport Music Trail this Saturday. Visitors can take in a fully complimentary festival-style event featuring venues highlighting talent from Newport and across Wales, with Goldie Lookin Chain topping the bill at the Corn Exchange alongside independent musicians and bands. Attendees can move between locations, take part in workshops and sample street food from the Newport Food Festival at John Frost Square, with offerings from Cegin Half ‘n’ Half, Scoffle Ya Waffle and others. The final day runs on Saturday, March 28, from 11am.
An evening of flavour, craftsmanship and discovery awaits at Enoteca After Hours: Artisan Tasting Evenings, taking place at Newport Market. Guests can sample expertly selected cheeses and cured meats, seasonal plates, new menu items and beverages matched to perfection during the Mediterranean Deli Tasting. Tickets cost £20 each, and availability is restricted, so early reservation is recommended. The event takes place on Saturday, March 28, from 5pm to 8pm.
Llanyrafon Manor invites families to celebrate Easter with a joyful day featuring their Easter Funday and Food, Craft and Gift Market. Programme highlights encompass face painting, an inflatable castle, characters yet to be announced, an Easter egg hunt and a range of local food, craft and gift vendors, alongside the chance to wander the manor grounds. The event runs on Sunday, March 29, from 10am to 3pm.
Ystrad Mynach town centre will come alive with a food, drink and music celebration. Stalls selling food and beverages, birds of prey, face painting, no-cost children’s craft sessions, funfair attractions, Easter Bunny characters and library activities will fill the streets. Thirty stalls will present cakes, preserves, street food and regional drinks, with Spanish paella and Polish 2ft smoked kielbasa sausages among the options. Live entertainment on Siloh Square and Bedwlwyn Road will keep visitors amused as they browse. The festival takes place on Saturday, March 28, from 9am.
