Weekend weather outlook for Newport revealed

According to the Met Office, rain is set to move through Newport, with an 80% probability occurring from the morning through to 4pm.

Showers will continue into the evening hours but are forecast to ease progressively, remaining sparse through the night.

Temperatures will fluctuate between 8°C and 12°C, accompanied by brisk south-westerly winds reaching 13mph, with overcast conditions dominating the day’s appearance.

Meteorologists expect the rain to ease by 8pm, resulting in a predominantly dry night as temperatures fall to around 3°C by morning.

The weather pattern is expected to shift significantly for Newport residents throughout the weekend.

Saturday morning will begin chilly, with temperatures dropping to 3°C in the early hours.

Despite the cold start, dry conditions are forecast for the entire day.

The coldest period will be in the morning, but temperatures are expected to reach 10°C by mid-afternoon, holding steady until 4pm before cooling again.

Winds will veer towards the west-northwest, with speeds reaching approximately 13mph.

Saturday night will see temperatures fall to approximately 4°C by midnight, while winds diminish to around 6mph.

Sunday morning will feel particularly cold at 2°C, but conditions will improve by midday as temperatures rise to around 10°C and stay mild through the afternoon.

Winds will shift once more, arriving from the southwest at speeds reaching 17mph, strongest during the afternoon before subsiding.

Rainfall is anticipated from 11am, intensifying as the day progresses, with precipitation probability reaching 70% by 3pm.

By 6pm, rainfall is forecast to diminish, with a 50% chance of continued precipitation into the evening.
