Drivers will face higher parking fees at 18 council-operated car parks in Monmouthshire starting next month.
The updated pricing takes effect on 16 April 2026, impacting facilities in Abergavenny, Chepstow, Monmouth, and Rogiet.
These adjustments follow a public notice published by Monmouthshire County Council on 25 March 2026, available on the Public Notice Portal at publicnoticeportal.uk.
Short-stay parking areas in Abergavenny (Tiverton Place, Trinity Terrace), Chepstow (Nelson Street), and Monmouth (Glendower Street) will incur a 10p rise for Monday-to-Saturday usage, with charges reaching £2.30 for stays up to two hours, £2.70 for up to three hours, and £3.50 for up to four hours.
Short-stay seasonal permits will also climb, with annual permits rising by £28 to £765, six-month permits increasing by £14 to £382, and three-month permits going up by £7 to £191.
Long-stay facilities in Abergavenny (St Mary’s Priory, Castle Street, Fairfield, Tudor Street), Chepstow (Station Road, Welsh Street, Castle Dell), and Monmouth (Cattle Market, Chippenham, Cornwall House, Rear of Monnow Street, Wyebridge Street) will experience comparable 10p increases, with charges of £2.30 for up to two hours, £2.70 for up to three hours, £3.50 for up to four hours, and £7 for full-day parking.
Weekly passes will see a modest rise, with five-day tickets increasing by £1 to £26, while six-day tickets stay the same at £30.
Long-stay seasonal tickets will increase by £20 annually to £620, with half-year tickets rising by £10 to £310 and quarterly tickets going up by £5 to £155.
At Abergavenny’s Brewery Yard, charges will be set at £2.30 for up to two hours, £2.70 for up to three hours, and £3.50 for up to four hours.
Byefield Car Park in Abergavenny will see its Tuesday full-day rate rise by 20p to £7.
The full-day charge at Chepstow Leisure Centre and Monmouth Rowing Club parking areas will increase by 10p to £2.30.
In Monmouth, the yearly cost for long-stay seasonal tickets at the Sports Ground Car Park will rise by £20 to £620.
At Rogiet Country Park, the all-day fee will become £6.20, with the first three hours remaining complimentary.
