City train station services hit by disruption reports

Eyewitnesses have informed us that certain rail services at Newport Railway Station have ceased operating and officers are present at the location.

According to Transport for Wales travel information, trains travelling between Cheltenham Spa and Newport are experiencing significant delays.

Someone speaking to the Argus mentioned they were travelling along the Severn Tunnel Junction route towards Cardiff when they were required to leave their train in Newport and board another service to continue their journey to the city.

The same source indicated that officers were responding to an incident involving a train.

Gwent Police have stated that a 33-year-old man was taken into custody on the train on suspicion of committing a burglary on Station Road in Caldicot at approximately 2.15pm on Thursday, March 26.

Some minor service disruptions between Cheltenham Spa and Newport continue to affect passengers.

Transport for Wales has indicated that the delays affecting trains between Cheltenham Spa and Newport have improved.
