Wales crematorium breaks ground as inaugural ‘super venue’ for ceremonies

Published on

Langstone Vale Crematorium, situated close to Newport, has achieved the distinction of being Wales inaugural funeral SuperVenue.

The facility, positioned just beyond Newport, has undergone a recent transformation and now delivers an immersive and deeply personal funeral experience through cutting-edge technology.

This advanced technology encompasses themed visuals displayed across the chapel front wall, synchronised audio and illumination, alongside a fresh external screen presenting the departed’s name alongside a treasured photograph.

The SuperVenue approach permits grieving families to achieve unprecedented levels of customisation for their loved ones’ ceremonies.

Aaron Carter, who manages Langstone Vale Crematorium, expressed his pride in introducing this pioneering immersive funeral option to bereaved families in Wales, noting that the technology permits families to tailor commemorations to a degree never before possible, establishing an atmosphere that genuinely reflects the individual being honoured.

He explained that numerous visual options exist, with some depicting landscapes or seasonal imagery while others reference particular hobbies and interests, all intended to craft a commemoration that holds unique personal significance for the person being remembered.

Langstone Vale operates under the Westerleigh Group umbrella, which manages 42 crematoria and burial grounds throughout England, Scotland, and Wales.

The group introduced the planet’s inaugural funeral SuperVenue towards the end of 2024 and, having received encouraging responses, is now extending the concept across the country.

The innovative technology seeks to ensure every parting becomes meaningful, blending personalisation with a soothing atmosphere for families in mourning.

Mr Carter stated that they remain dedicated to offering families outstanding care and service of the finest quality, with the SuperVenue system granting mourners greater options than previously available, allowing them to honour their departed alongside relatives and companions in a supportive environment.

He indicated that they anticipate assisting families in creating farewells that prove more significant and distinctive than ever before.
