Wonderwool Wales has revealed initial details regarding its 21st edition, scheduled to take place at the Royal Welsh Showground on 24 and 25 April 2027.
The event encompasses the complete creative spectrum, from initial materials through to final products.
Exhibits at the venue include ovine displays, untreated and hand-dyed fibres, knitting and crochet materials, decorative items, tools, colorants, and publications.
Finished craftwork, garments, and interior pieces complement these offerings.
The most recent gathering featured runway presentations, skill-building sessions, live performances, and interactive activities coordinated by various participants.
Among over thirty first-time vendors this year were Marisa Arosa from Abenaia in Marvão, Portugal, who offered naturally-dyed yarn, and Stephen and Penelope, an Amsterdam-based boutique presenting their West Wool house brand alongside Re:Designed leather goods.
This year’s show celebrated its twentieth anniversary, marking the occasion with record visitor numbers, the highest exhibitor count to date, and unprecedented international attendance.
The opening day’s popularity proved so substantial that numerous vendors needed to arrange supplementary deliveries for their displays.
Director Chrissie Menzies noted that attendance exceeded expectations, with many vendors describing it as their most prosperous appearance at the venue.
Feedback regarding logistics proved overwhelmingly positive, advance ticket sales demonstrated approximately a thousand-unit increase compared to the previous year, and the atmosphere remained consistently vibrant throughout.
International groups from Sweden, Holland, and Ireland arrived with substantial purchasing plans.
Delegates from Sweden and Holland observed that no comparable event exists in their respective nations and indicated intentions to return the following year.
The incorporation of Welsh cultural elements achieved an appropriate equilibrium, providing an appropriate commemoration of two decades at the venue.
