Newport hotel rooms hit £4,651 as Fury vs Joshua fight prices soar over 1,000%

With the highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua scheduled for December 11 at the Principality Stadium, accommodation costs in the surrounding area have reached extraordinary levels.

Hospitality providers across the region are capitalising on the influx of supporters, with nightly rates climbing well beyond typical figures.

According to industry sources, accommodation in Newport has seen charges exceeding £2,500 for single nights as fight night approaches.

Multiple establishments in the city have exhausted their room allocations, leaving visitors with limited choices and inflated pricing options.

Properties with no remaining inventory include the Holiday Inn Newport, Holiday Inn Express Newport, Mercure Newport, and the Newbridge on Usk venue.

Visitors seeking alternatives in proximity to the stadium face significantly elevated tariff structures.

The Celtic Manor Resort has positioned its standard rooms starting at £2,600 for one evening, while The Manor House Hotel commands rates from £2,000 per night.

For those requiring more spacious arrangements, the presidential suite at The Celtic Manor Resort accommodating four guests is listed at £9,000, translating to approximately £2,250 per person.

Coldra Court Hotel advertises rooms from £1,275, with Tŷ Hotel Newport listing accommodations from £1,258.

Research conducted by The South Wales Argus examined pricing at Tŷ Hotel Newport for December 1, revealing rooms available from £107, representing a 1,075 percent increase compared to standard rates for the anticipated bout.

Budget-conscious supporters may still find more economical alternatives closer to the venue.

Tŷ Hotel Magor maintains availability from £859 per night, while easyHotel Cardiff offers rooms for £560 on December 11 despite typically charging as little as £30 for standard occupancy.

The demand surge extends throughout south-eastern Wales, prompting industry observers to recommend that unbooked attendees explore cities beyond the immediate vicinity.

Bristol, Monmouth, and Bath have emerged as viable alternatives, though these locations necessitate additional travel time to the stadium.

Premier Inn establishments in the wider region have experienced similar demand increases.

Rooms at the Bristol Alveston property start from £77, with Bristol Cribbs Causeway charging from £80 and Monmouth locations from £118.

Holiday Inn branded properties also report availability, including the Bristol Filton branch from £130, Bristol Airport location from £174, and Holiday Inn Express Bath from £186.

All tariff information was verified on October 14 for single-night stays corresponding to the December 11 event date.

Consumers are advised that pricing remains subject to fluctuation based on market conditions and booking patterns.
