A price comparison survey has identified the most affordable locations for both unleaded petrol and diesel across the Newport area, based on data gathered directly from fuel retailers and submitted by consumers.
Among unleaded petrol options, the lowest prices recorded were 173.9p per litre at Sainsburys Newport and Morrisons Rogerstone.
Several Asda branches featured competitive rates, with both the Pillgwenlly Automat and Newport outlets charging 174.7p per litre.
Tesco operated two stations in the area, at Spytty and Gwent Extra, each offering fuel at 174.9p per litre.
Gulf Chepstow Road, trading as Hillcroft Garage, matched this price point at 174.9p.
Higher prices were noted at Asda Express Newport, operating from Casnewydd Service Station, and Esso Chepstow Road, also known as Newport Express, both at 175.9p per litre.
Esso Chepstow Road, operating under the MFG Newport banner, charged 176.9p per litre for unleaded fuel.
For diesel customers, Asda Pillgwenlly Automat and Asda Newport shared the lowest recorded price at 196.7p per litre.
Tesco Newport Spytty and Tesco Newport Gwent Extra both offered diesel at 196.9p per litre.
Sainsburys Newport charged 197.9p per litre for diesel.
Gulf Chepstow Road, trading as Hillcroft Garage, had diesel available at 198.9p per litre.
Three separate outlets all charged 199.9p per litre for diesel: Shell Newport, Texaco Monnow Way operating as Bettws Service Station, BP Malpas Road trading as Malpas SF Connect, and Texaco Ponthir Road operating as Spar Service Station.
