A historic commercial property in Chepstow has changed hands for £349,000 following an online auction.
The sale price exceeded the £319,000 guide price set by Paul Fosh Auctions for the Grade II listed building on St Mary Street.
The Dutch-barn-style terraced building dates from 1905 and is more than 120 years old.
It has three storeys and is currently occupied by a craft shop on the ground floor.
A former tea room or café occupies the first floor, while the second floor has potential to be converted into accommodation.
A two-storey structure stands at the rear of the property.
Four prospective purchasers submitted seven bids during the auction.
The building stands at Number 12, St Mary Street, within a pedestrianised area of the border town.
The site covers approximately 0.12 acres and has rear access from Nelson Street, together with parking for eight cars.
James Holingsworth, who represented Paul Fosh Auctions, described the property as notable among historic buildings with architectural interest on the traffic-free street.
He said the location and layout offered scope for investors, developers or owner-occupiers seeking alternative commercial uses or a residential redevelopment.
Any such change would remain subject to the required planning consents.
