Organisations and businesses operating within South West Wales are being encouraged to propose capital initiatives capable of stimulating sustainable economic advancement throughout the area.
The South West Wales Corporate Joint Committee has initiated a call for expressions of interest regarding substantial capital schemes, typically exceeding £500,000 in value, that demonstrate measurable benefits for the regional economy.
The financial package forms part of the Local Growth Fund, supported by the Welsh Government.
Priority areas include commercial expansion and innovation, workforce development and job creation, and enhancements to critical regional infrastructure.
Applicants must ensure proposals correspond with both the Regional Economic Delivery Plan and the Local Growth Fund’s strategic objectives.
Submissions need to provide evidence of implementation feasibility, sound financial planning, enduring community value, and ecological responsibility.
All schemes must reach completion by the conclusion of 2028.
This phase represents preliminary interest gathering rather than a binding grant application, though promising submissions could advance to subsequent stages involving detailed assessment and due diligence.
The closing date stands at 31 October 2026.
Comprehensive guidance and the relevant documentation are accessible via the Committee’s online portal.
The political leader overseeing the initiative has welcomed the programme, describing it as a chance to attract resources toward ventures capable of generating tangible improvements for the regional economy, expressing particular interest in proposals from forward-thinking entities with concepts to enhance productivity, employment, infrastructure and sustainable expansion across South West Wales.
The four local authorities of Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Pembrokeshire comprise the Joint Committee, which cooperates with the two national park authorities on matters of strategic regional importance.
