A performing arts organisation based in Caldicot is marking its milestone 10th anniversary with a prestigious regional honour.

Kre8tive Theatre secured the Contribution to the Arts accolade at the South Wales Community Awards 2026, held at Rodney Parade in Newport on Thursday, October 8.

The category, backed by Malpas Pharmacy, celebrates music, drama and dance organisations that positively impact their local communities alongside the individuals who operate them.

Representatives from the company collected the trophy at the ceremony.

According to a spokesperson from Kre8tive Theatre, members were taken aback yet deeply appreciative to receive recognition for Contribution to the Arts.

The organisation emphasised that providing opportunities for individuals across all age groups to engage with, appreciate and flourish within the arts remains a core mission, and having that work acknowledged in this manner holds significant meaning.

The theatre company has operated for a decade, facilitating participation in musical theatre for people of every age.

Currently, four separate companies operate under the Kre8tive banner, each preparing performances scheduled throughout the calendar year.

Among its offerings, the newest initiative, Stage Door, delivers sessions tailored for teenagers and adults.

This programme recently premiered its inaugural full production, Little Shop of Horrors.

According to comments from the organisation, the award reflects the commitment and efforts of its entire team, along with the contributions of students and families who form part of Kre8tive Theatre.

The founders expressed pride in what began as a modest workshop concept and has since grown into a established venture, while extending appreciation to all participants, supporters and those involved in the organisation’s activities.

The trophy was presented by Clara McCool, clinical lead at Malpas Pharmacy.

Representatives from Kre8tive Theatre noted that the recognition has rendered the anniversary year particularly meaningful, providing a fitting way to commemorate ten years of creative work, community engagement and artistic opportunities.
