Emergency services responded to an incident on Coity Road in Bridgend on Monday 19 October, with officers from South Wales Police arriving at the scene following reports of a road traffic collision at approximately 12:43pm.

A vehicle struck a wall along the road, prompting the response.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered that the vehicle’s driver had sustained injuries.

Authorities have indicated that these injuries are not currently believed to be connected to the collision itself.

The driver was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

A safety cordon was established in the surrounding area, and a nearby building was cleared of occupants as a precautionary measure to protect members of the public.

Officers remain stationed in the Ger-y-nant vicinity as investigations continue.

The priority for authorities is determining the circumstances that led to the collision occurring.

Members of the public have been urged to steer clear of the area to allow emergency services unrestricted access to the scene while their inquiries proceed.
