A Welsh Olympic sprint medallist faced off against one of rugby union’s quickest wingers in a speed contest that brought together two of the nation’s most athletic competitors.
Jeremiah Azu, who secured bronze at the 2024 Paris Games, went head-to-head with Louis Rees-Zammit, a player renowned for his pace in the Premiership.
The challenge was arranged by the Premiership Rugby YouTube channel, with Azu travelling to Bristol Bears’ training facility to meet his fellow Welshman.
Both athletes hail from Wales and share a connection through their youth days, having previously represented the same Cardiff Schools rugby team during their formative years.
The challenge drew considerable attention from Rees-Zammit’s club colleagues, with playful teasing and good-humoured exchanges taking place before the main event got underway.
The outcome of the race was captured on camera and shared via the Premiership Rugby social media channels.
