Gwent PC Michael Hill faces gross misconduct hearing over alleged inappropriate texts

Published on

A Gwent Police officer is scheduled to appear before a misconduct panel in connection with claims that he transmitted inappropriate text communications over an extended period exceeding a year and a half.

Police Constable Michael Hill has been listed to attend proceedings at Vantage Point House in Cwmbran on October 16.

The panel will examine assertions that his behaviour fell short of required professional standards concerning authority, respect and courtesy, equality and diversity, and conduct that could bring the force into disrepute.

According to a spokesperson representing the force, the claims relate to a timeframe spanning from January 2023 through to September 2024, during which PC 2798 Hill allegedly dispatched inappropriate text messages.

The spokesperson indicated that should these allegations be established, they would constitute grounds for summary dismissal from Gwent Police.

Appropriate measures will be implemented to safeguard the identities of those involved in the case throughout the hearing process.
