A budget supermarket chain has announced the introduction of a new selection of deli-inspired sandwiches at stores in select locations, including the Welsh capital.
The launch is scheduled for mid-October, with a collection of four high-protein options priced at £2.69 each.
Three varieties will be available initially, with a fourth joining the lineup later in the autumn.
The first sandwich is the Italian Deli Meats, weighing 284 grams and containing a combination of poultry slices, cured meat products, and cheese, complemented by a flavoured soft cheese spread, mixed leaves, and tomato slices.
The second option, the Chicken Kiev, has a weight of 253 grams and features a breaded poultry strip with garlic-infused soft cheese, salad leaves, and onion preserve.
The third sandwich is the Coronation Chicken, at 240 grams, comprising poultry slices, a spiced mayonnaise-style sauce, mango preserve, and fresh herbs.
From late November, the Coronation Chicken will be discontinued and replaced by the Festive Meat Feast, a 241-gram offering containing turkey, herb-flavoured poultry stuffing, smoked back bacon, and fruit preserve, accompanied by a separate pot of jus for dipping.
The retailer has stated that the new range capitalises on a viral social media phenomenon where consumers stack multiple protein and dairy components along with vegetables between slices of bread.
The sandwiches will be stocked at various branches throughout the country.
