Table Table is preparing to shut down all of its pub dining establishments this September, including three outlets in South Wales.
The well-known brand, which currently runs 32 locations throughout the United Kingdom, will cease operations as part of Whitbread’s move to eliminate its entire portfolio of standalone branded restaurants.
Additional chains impacted include:
Brewers Fayre (89 sites) – shutting on 7 September
Beefeater (106 sites) – 10 September
Bar + Block (20 sites) – 3 September
Cookhouse + Pub (14 sites) – 3 September
The shutdowns follow Whitbread’s May announcement regarding plans to reduce approximately 3,800 positions across the UK and Ireland as part of a five-year strategy intended to generate £250 million in savings.
Whitbread intends to replace the shuttered venues with dining facilities within Premier Inn hotels.
According to Whitbread chief executive Dominic Paul, the company always challenges itself to improve and, in light of significant cost increases in the form of business rates and national insurance, as well as the implied market discount to the company’s inherent value, it has looked hard at the options available to maximise value creation over the medium and long-term.
He explained that this plan will transform Whitbread into a higher-margin, higher-returning pure-play hotel business.
All 32 Table Table sites will permanently close on 3 September.

Pantruthyn Farm in Bridgend also carries a 4 out of 5 rating from 759 reviews, with one patron describing it as a family friendly restaurant with friendly staff.
Another visitor noted that it was a very caring and professional team and that they would miss the establishment.
Pentrebach House, situated in Merthyr Tydfil, holds a 4.1 rating from 1,222 reviews.
