A child sex offender has been ordered to remain in custody after entering guilty pleas to charges involving the sexual exploitation of children.

Joshua Camplin, aged 32 and residing on Chepstow Road in Newport, acknowledged responsibility for attempting to organize the commission of an offence against a child, attempting to initiate sexual communication with a minor, and two violations of a sexual harm prevention order.

The criminal conduct occurred between January 26 and March 3, proceedings at Cardiff Crown Court revealed.

Judge Daniel Williams postponed the matter until May 12 to allow for a pre-sentence report to be compiled.

Darren Bishop represented the defendant while Kathryn Lane acted for the Crown.
