Man guilty of assaulting girl, 14, and sharing intimate photo

A defendant faces sentencing after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old and transmitting visual content depicting genitals to another individual.

Ryan Thomas, aged 33 and residing at Garn Street, Abercarn, Caerphilly, was convicted following separate court proceedings of inappropriate physical contact with a 14-year-old girl and distributing photographic or video material showing private parts with the intent to cause upset, embarrassment or harm.

Newport Crown Court was informed that the criminal conduct occurred during the period spanning April 1, 2022 through September 21, 2023.

The accused was taken into custody pending trial by Judge Matthew Porter-Bryant.

Thomas is scheduled to appear for sentencing on April 15.
