Officers from the emergency services joined forces on April 29 to conduct an operation targeting drivers who exceeded speed limits and those failing to wear seat belts.

Blaenau Gwent Team 2 collaborated alongside the Abertillery neighbourhood unit, with support from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

Five motorists received traffic offence reports for not fastening their seat belts, while 19 individuals were shown a safety video after being detected traveling above the speed limit during the enforcement action.

One officer involved stated that the operation had been designed to proactively address both speeding violations and seat belt non-compliance, resulting in 19 drivers being shown educational material following speed detections and five traffic offence reports being issued to those not wearing seat belts.
