Woman in Newport admits guilt after nitrous oxide seizure

Published on

A 22-year-old woman has admitted guilt after being found in possession of four boxes containing nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas.

Phoebe Sargent, from Gaer Vale in Newport, entered a guilty plea to charges of possessing nitrous oxide for unlawful inhalation, which is classified as a class C controlled substance.

She additionally confessed to operating a Volkswagen Polo vehicle without valid licensing.

Both violations occurred on September 23 of last year, as stated during proceedings at Newport Magistrates’ Court.

The matter has been postponed until May 15 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be compiled.

Sargent was released on unconditional bail.
