Council distributes £12,000-plus in funding to community organisations

Chepstow Town Council has approved more than £12,000 in grants for local community organisations during its latest funding round.

The council has pledged £12,032.04 to support a range of projects and activities across the area.

Chepstow Festival Events Team has been awarded over £5,400 to stage their Wig Gig production in April and the Everything Elvis performance due to take place in June.

A new community festival planned for July 11 will also benefit from council support, with Chepstow Many Worlds receiving £1,000 to help stage the event.

Thornwell Red & White FC secured £499.96 to buy portable goals and a gazebo, while the 5th Chepstow Girl Guides obtained £239.78 to replace cookers and tables used for their meetings and camping trips.

Chepstow Pride has been given £1,000 towards its June 2026 event, which will include a theatre production, workshop for young people, parade, and riverside picnic.

The 1st Bulwark Scouts received £750 to enable all members to take part in outdoor adventure activities.

CHAOS Music and Drama has been awarded £3,060 to stage two productions: Shrek The Musical in August and their annual pantomime due to be performed in January 2027.
